Last year, we released the long-awaited hardware belt: a belt that’s made to work hard day-in and day-out, and that’s built for tough environments without sacrificing on comfort.
To the team at Arcade, this product was particularly exciting to release due to the amount of user feedback we received from folks who love the A2 Belt, but needed a belt that was centered less around performance and more around durability and function.
Below, we dive into the creation of the hardware belt, including who it’s for and updates we made to our traditional design. Let’s get into it.
Why Did We Make the Hardware Belt in the First Place?
To put it simply: the hardware work belt was built for folks who need to carry heavy tools and equipment either attached to their belts, or from their pants. While folks loved the custom fit and durability of the A2 Belt, it wasn’t created to provide the heavy duty support that many of our customers need.
We developed the hardware belt to solve this problem, offering a product that’s 30% stiffer than the A2 belt so that it’s able to provide the level of support needed when gear is part of the equation, too.
Elements of the Hardware Belt
When our team first started brainstorming the hardware belt’s design, we knew that we wanted to create a product that’s as purpose-driven as possible for the consumer. This resulted in our team adding a benefit to every component of the product, from webbing to buckle.
So, what specifically makes the hardware belt different from the belts in our lifestyle and adventure categories? We dive in deeper below.
The Webbing
Compared to the A2 Belt, the webbing on the working belt is slicker and denser, providing abrasion resistance that protects your gear from wear and tear over time. While the webbing isn’t ultralight the way it is on our belts built to perform, its denser weave offers increased durability and strength to allow for the support needed when your toolbelt is attached to your pants all day long.
That being said, tools and other essentials aren't all that our hardware belt is built for. We’ve heard from ski patrollers, climbers, and folks who simply need more support during their day-to-day that the hardware belt offers game-changing functionality.
The Hardware
Strong and durable doesn’t have to mean bulky and heavy. The workwear belt’s 3-piece buckle system is as durable as they come, built with lugs and grips that ensure a non-slip hold. Unlike other belts that we offer, the hardware on this belt is designed to be fed externally, allowing users to adjust the stiffness of the belt on the fly. This feature is particularly useful when putting on or taking off tools, as it makes tightening and loosening easy while multitasking.
When the job needs to get done, the hardware belt is the essential tool in your gear kit. Built for superior strength and durability, it’s been purposely designed by our team as a reliable piece of gear that works as hard as you do.
