FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNITY FROM FIRST CHAIR TO LAST
The Mothership Classic—a ski-a-thon hosted by Arcade to raise funds to help injured athletes in their journey to recovery. The High Fives Foundation is family to us and we are proud and honored to partner with them to further their mission in both building communities around individuals with life changing injuries, while working to prevent injuries from occurring.
It started with a simple idea—do good and make it fun. Every year in March, Arcade hosts The Mothership Classic where we grab our friends, form our teams, put on our raddest gear and head to Palisades at Tahoe to take as many fun laps in one day on the legendary KT-22 chair, also known as “The Mothership”. Fun is had, prizes are given, and all funds raised go to High Fives Foundation, to support those who have experienced life-altering injuries.
Sign up and get involved—by giving back to those working toward their dreams of getting back out there and doing what they love.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
What started as a local event 11 years ago is now a national ski-a-thon series to help the High Fives Foundation achieve their mission. We invite you to participate in one of two ways:
SHOP & GIVE BACK
As an added bonus, you can purchase the Arcade Decade belt to support High Fives. From March 14th to March 31st 2022, 100% of proceeds from the sale of all Arcade Decade belts will contribute to the fundraising goal of the Mothership Classic.
RIPPING TURNS FOR A GOOD TIME—AND A GOOD CAUSE.
“The local community has fully embraced the Mothership Classic, allowing us to turn a rowdy day on the hill into a platform for creating meaningful change for those who have suffered life-altering injuries.”
- Tristan Queen, Co-Founder & CEO of Arcade
HIGH FIVES FOR OUR PARTNER
The High Fives Foundation is a Tahoe-based nonprofit on a mission to help people with life-altering injuries get back to snowboarding, skiing, surfing, mountain biking and beyond. Along with specialized grants, programs, and a cutting-edge facility called the CR Johnson Healing Center, the Foundation designs education around preventing life-changing injuries, and provides resources and hope if they happen.
Formed as a way to "pay-it-forward" by the founder, Roy Tuscany, after his own recovery from a spinal cord injury, High Fives has helped nearly 500 athletes and veterans across North America since its inception in 2009.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE, WHILE HAVING FUN
Since the inception of The Mothership Classic 11 years ago, we have raised over $600K for High Fives Foundation. This amount is equivalent to over 6,000 physical therapy sessions or 6,000 adaptive ski lessons, or 4 pairs of sit skis/other adaptive sports equipment. These resources are critical for the recovery of injured athletes.
We are proud to continue supporting High Fives who works tirelessly to build programs to supply adaptive sports equipment, financial support for rehabilitation resources, and build an engaged and caring community.
